Sidney Bresler and his family were lifelong friends with Dr. Schattner-affectionately called “Dr. Bob” and his beloved wife Kay. Over time, Sid became Dr. Bob’s close personal confidant assisting him in developing a philanthropic strategy, vetting charitable opportunities, and ensuring that his charitable wishes were fulfilled. Before his passing, Dr. Bob expressed his wish that Sidney be named the Chairman and President of the Robert I. Schattner Foundation (RIS). In conjunction with the other members of the board, Sid ensures that the philanthropic endeavors undertaken by RIS keep Dr. Bob’s spirit alive by making a difference in the communities served. Before becoming Chairman of RIS, Sidney practiced law and subsequently ran his family’s real estate company.

Robert T. Schattner
Robert T. Schattner is the nephew of the founder Dr. Robert I. Schattner. Dr. Schattner fondly referred to him as “the imposter” due to the similarity of names. He had a great sense of humor and was encouraging to those around him. Robert T graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Business and Finance Administration and went on with a career in real estate development. Currently, he is the owner of a construction company specializing in the restoration and reconstruction of properties damaged due to fire, water, and mold. Robert sees the foundation’s work to be the most satisfying and rewarding mission of all and feels most fortunate to give back to the people who need the most help. The Schattner Foundation makes it all possible and we thank Dr. Schattner for the means to achieve these goals and make a real difference in many people’s lives.
